    • Art:
      Students will acquire a solid foundation and knowledge of 
      • Processes and techniques in 2-D and 3-D Art i.e. drawing, painting, mixed media, weaving, sculpture
      • The elements and principles of art as it increases from kindergarten through eighth grade  
      • The vocabulary to explain perceptions about and evaluations of visual arts visual arts in historical and cultural contexts

      Music: 
      Junior kindergarten begins by exploring the voice through simple songs, engaging in movement activities, and striving to become tuneful, artful, and beautiful music.

      Physical Education:
      • Demonstrate gross motor skills with purpose through walking, running, jumping, skipping, hopping, kicking, throwing and catching
      • Demonstrate fine motor skills with purpose through wrist, hand and finger control as well as hand-eye coordination
      • Respond to sensory input to function in the environment through body awareness and spatial awareness for tag and games
      • Practice safe behaviors while playing with peers

      Spanish:
      Introduction to Spanish by having  fun at the same time  learning Spanish by songs, which helps us identify the first words, language sounds,(pronunciation) and basic knowledge.

      Jr. Kindergarten Teacher
      • Education: Graduated with a Masters in Elementary Childhood from Maryville University, Certifications in Early Childhood, Elementary and Middle School Social Studies.  
      • Total Years Teaching; I have 22 years of teaching experience.
      • Years at SAR: 14 years
      • Why do you love teaching at SAR? I love the community and I love taking my class to church.
      • Hobbies: I enjoy yoga, reading and photography.

      Mrs. Meg Sippel
      Jr. Kindergarten Teacher
      • Education: Graduated with a BA in Elementary Education from Saint Louis University, and a Masters in Elementary Education and a Masters in Gifted Education from Lindenwood University.
      • Total Years Teaching: 30 years
      • Years at SAR: 1 years
      • Why do you love teaching at SAR? I love how the Catholic faith plays a big part in the education and formation of the students at SAR.  It is an amazing place to work and I am blessed to be part of such a loving and caring community.
      • Hobbies: I love going to car shows, traveling, and spending time with my family.

      • Education: Early Childhood Education from Saint Louis University

      • Why do you love teaching at SAR? I love teaching at St. Alban Roe because we make God and our faith part of  everything we teach.  From learning letters to science, our beliefs are incorporated.
        I also love watching the children I teach grow through the years.
